Privacy Policy

Efal ("we", "us") helps you build CVs, analyze job-ad compatibility, practice interviews and track applications. This policy explains what data we process, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What we collect

Account data: your email address (used for passwordless sign-in links).
CV and career data you enter: name, contact details, work history, education, skills, and any other content you add to your CV, applications tracker or tools.
Usage counters: which AI features you used and when (to enforce plan limits).
Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.

We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data. We do not collect data from your device beyond what is needed to run the app.

2. How AI features work

When you use an AI feature (CV import, ATS check, cover letter, interview simulator, job matching, career advice, salary estimate), the relevant content — typically your CV text and the job ad you paste — is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the result. Per Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train their models. AI outputs are estimates and suggestions, not professional advice.

3. Who processes your data (sub-processors)

Supabase — database and authentication (account, CV, usage data).
Vercel — application hosting.
Anthropic — AI processing of content you submit to AI features.
Stripe — subscription payments and invoicing.

4. Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the sidebar ("Delete account"); this permanently removes your account, CV and usage records. You may also email us to request deletion or a copy of your data.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
